This question has been asked more than a thousand times since Roblox’s debut over a decade ago, and fans have always received the same short answer: it’s not. Now, however, we may be getting a different answer to this question for the very first time. In March of 2022, a job listing was posted on the official Roblox job board under the title, Senior Software Engineer, Playstation Console—but then, in July of 2023, claims were made that Sony blocked Roblox from debuting on its PlayStation console due to child safety concerns. Is Roblox on PlayStation right now?
At the time of this article’s publication, Roblox can only be accessed on Xbox, iOS, Android, and PC, and will soon be added to the Meta Quest. This means that, to many players’ dismay, Roblox cannot be played on Nintendo Switch or PlayStation.

When can I play Roblox on PlayStation?
While the job listing linked above is a good start for those hoping to see Roblox launch on the PS4 and PS5, it doesn’t equate or lead to a distinct timeline that signifies when Roblox will be available on the Sony consoles. Hiring for jobs, especially those that are looking for applicants with senior levels of experience, takes months, so it’s likely that if Roblox is added to the PlayStation store, it won’t be until at least 2024, if not 2025.
While only a stepping stone, this job listing is a strong indicator that Roblox is beginning to work towards increasing its cross-platform abilities and presence, which will continue to grow its success and popularity as a company.
